Garry McMahon
The firm was founded by Garry McMahon at North Quay, Newcastle West in 1961 and quickly developed a significant client base in West Limerick and North Kerry. He expanded and relocated the firm to the Square ten years later where it remained until relocated to larger premises in Bishop Street in 2024.
Garry had a considerable reputation as a litigator and in particular acted in personal injuries cases for decades, including being a member of various insurance defence panels. He was a member of the Committee on Court Practice and Procedure of the Courts Service which recommended, among other things, the establishment of the Commercial Court.
Garry was a well known sportsman and found particular acclaim playing football for Listowel Emmets and Kerry, with whom he earned two Senior All Ireland medals. He was also a well known singer and composer of ballads and was a regular feature at Comhaltas events and toured America with the organisation.
Garry died in 2008, leaving a legacy of excellence in serving his clients.
